Clinical Observation of Urodynamic Study in Prostatodynia Patients

Abstract
|
|
|
Urodynamic studies were performed in 5 patients with prostatodynia during 4 month period from April, 1982 to August, 1982.
1. The presentation of all patients included urinary urgency, dysuria, poor urinary flow, and perineal discomfort. Urinalysis, gram stain of prostatic secretion, and cystourethroscopy were normal in all cases.
2. The average flow rates of 3 patients were distributed below one standard deviation of Olsson¢¥s normogram.
3. The maximum flow rates of 4 patients were distributed below one standard deviation of Olsson¢¥s normogram.
4. Mean maximum urethral pressure was 162cm H2O, and mean maximum urethral closure pressure was 147cm H2O, and mean functional urethral profile length was 3.6cm long.
5. Phenoxybenzamine was tried in one patient and good result was obtained.
